1. Kavouri

Kavouri beach

The first beach with a truly exotic landscape that you come across when leaving Athens is Kavouri. The sandy beach is located in a bay with pine-covered hills while only the view of the cement reminds you that you are in Athens. It is a relatively long beach, in some places it has sand and in others it is rocky and shallow, which makes it ideal for children. It is also called Megalo (Big) Kavouri from the name of the peninsula on which it is located.

There are two restaurants, Trypia Varka and Maistros, sunbeds are with a fee, you will find a playground and a large parking lot. Plus the pedestrian walkway that reaches Mikro (Small) Kavouri.

In the middle of the beach there is an islet with a stone building where you can go by walking in the waves, probably from the German conquerors.

2. Small Kavouri

Small Kavouri beach

Free sandy beaches without an entrance ticket at the entrance of Vouliagmeni below Poseidonos Avenue. They are mainly used by the occupants of the adjacent hotels. Parking is difficult and you have to find a place on the adjacent streets. There is also the private beach of Divani Apollon Hotel. In the area there are many fish taverns on the beach, while at the end of the beach begins the pedestrian walkway that ends at Megalo Kavouri.

3. Vouliagmeni beach (Private)

Vouliagmeni beach

It is the largest sandy beach of Vouliagmeni of course with a small entrance fee. A pleasant beach with sunbeds, canteens, areas with green and basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. The parking is free. The beach is shallow and suitable for children. It is located in a central spot which makes it easy to access.

4. Vouliagmeni beach (Public)

Public Vouliagmeni beach

Small and shallow sandy beach with sunbeds. There is no parking at the site and if you are go there with your vehicle, you should park it somewhere further away.

5. Astir beach

Astir beach

The best beach in Vouliagmeni, private and with the most expensive entrance as the couple costs 100 euros. The sunbeds have a thick mattress and beds are also provided. Within the beach are the ruins of the ancient temple of Apollon Zostir. There is no parking parking lot there.

6. Limanakia

Limanakia

A very popular swimming spot. It is not a beach but a narrow rocky cove with blue waters from where you enter the sea either by diving or by ladder. There is also a beach bar, it is old however. You can lie on the rocks or on the platform or sit at the beach bar. You descend to the cove by a trail. There is a parking lot as well as a bus stop (buses 122, 115 and 117 pass there).

7. Coves near Vouliagmeni lake

Vouliagmeni coves

Opposite the lake, at Sardelaki and Lambros taverns in particular, there are pleasant coves for swimming with much less people than the rest of the beaches. Access is easy as well as parking.

8. Niriides

Niriides beach

A small but lovely beach behind the air force base overlooking Asteras hotel. You will find there Zen Beach for moments of relaxation with food and coffee. It offers sunbeds for a fee and there is paid parking. For those who do not want to rent a sunbed there is small free space to the left and right.

9. Thespidos - Krabo beach

Thespidos beach - Krabo beach

A small sandy beach less known than the others. Here is Krabo Beach restaurant. It offers sunbeds for a fee but there is also free space on the beach. Parking is free of charge. It has a view towards Asteras hotel.
