How to get to Poros - Galatas - Methana by road
You can easily reach the destinations Poros, Galatas and Methana of the Argosaronic gulf in addition to the ferry by road too. This option is suitable if you like to take a road trip in the surrounding area.

The routes are shown on the map below. Keep in mind that after the Isthmus the road is narrow with several turns and the speeds are of course low.
Right after the Corinth Isthmus turn towards Epidaurus at exit 10. Continue as the signs indicate until you reach Ancient Epidaurus where you turn following the signs. As soon as you see the Vassilopoulos supermarket it means that you are going at the right route and after a while going up the mountain turn left.

From there the road is a little better but still narrow with difficult overtaking. You pass through Kalloni and shortly after turn left towards Methana. The road leading to Methana is even narrower.

Continuing towards Galatas - Poros the terrain turns flat and very soon in about 20 minutes you reach Galatas. By entering Galatas there is a sign for Poros and for the free municipal parking. The trip from Athens to Galatas takes 2 hours and 45 minutes.
At Galatas' port you take the boats or the ferry boat for Poros depending on whether you are a pedestrian or if you have a vehicle. The journey by boat costs 1½ euros per person.
