Pilgrimage to the Holy Apostles in Tolo, Argolis
Today is the eve of the feast of the Holy Apostles, June 29th, and as every year the homonymous chapel in Koronisi celebrates. This year I decided to visit it for the first time and I confess that I was tempted by the fact that you go there by boat.

The departure takes place at Tolo harbour where a large number of pilgrims had gathered at the pier. Unfortunately this year only one boat was serving resulting in a long delay both in the departure and the return. As the locals told me other years were serving two or three boats but this year was the exception.

Below is a list of the hotels I recommend you to stay at:
- (€€) Flisvos Royal Hotel & Suites (⭐ 8.9) a renovated hotel near the beach. It offers spacious and comfortable rooms with nice colours. It also has a swimming pool
- (€€) Mari Hotel & Maisonettes (⭐ 9.4) on the sandy beach with its own sun loungers. Renovated and one of the best choices to stay in Tolo

At the departure point there were port guards who supervised the boarding and disembarking of passengers with great care, strictly allowing up to 40 passengers per route. Slowly and patiently my turn came. The boat ride although short was very nice.
When I arrived in Koronisi it was already night and the divine leitourgi had just ended. I climbed the narrow steps and entered the small and simple chapel to light a candle and worship the icon of the Synaxis of the Holy Apostles. As far as I know the chapel is only open on the eve and day of the feast as well as for weddings or baptisms.

Going up to the chapel

It was definitely a great experience despite the long wait but I want to believe that it won't be repeated. In any case many people of all ages waited patiently without flinching.
I hope that next year the organization will be better but I would definitely like to go again. If you find yourself in Argolis at the end of June I highly recommend that you experience it too.
