Exploring the unspoiled beaches in Xiropigado, Arkadia

The time has come to explore a well-hidden secret located in Xiropigado, Arkadia, that not even the locals know about.

Xiropigado beaches

A few years ago I accidentally discovered near the village cemetery that under the steep cliffs of Mount Zavitsa the coast has incredible turquoise colors. Although nothing else seemed to be there it was obvious that there were beaches.

At first I didn't pay attention because I thought it wouldn't be anything special but after a while I learned that tourist boats from nearby Nafplio and Tolo go there so I considered that something very good was there. Now that I have a drone the exploration can begin. I didn't even know what these beaches looked like so whatever I discovered would be a surprise.

So I went back to the cemetery, the location not inside the cemetery, and organized the drone flight. I set a takeoff and landing site and did a quick exploration of the trail because I wanted to have as much visual contact with the drone as possible so that it could get closer to the beaches. As soon as the takeoff took place the beauties began to be revealed.

There where the slopes end vertically into the sea, beaches with caves and rocks are formed as if they were sculptures. Deserted, untamed, pristine, there are no words to describe the feeling of discovery.

They extend from Xiropigado cemetery to the Vagelistra church to the only accessible beach, Villes. All inaccessible from land and accessible only by boat. A landscape of 100% untouched wild beauty. Only one could be approached by someone with the skills of a goat but I consider it dangerous to swim alone in unknown waters.

Below is a list of the hotels I recommend you to stay at:

  • (€) Sunset (⭐ 8.7) apartments in front of the beach. It also has a tavern
  • (€) Apartments Balaska (⭐ 9.2) apartments with a view a little above the beach

This experience brought me closer to my childhood image of summer which is none other than the sea breeze, the sounds of cicadas and calm beaches.

As I said above, you can visit only with Nafplio4Sail or similar cruises from Tolo. There is no boat rental service in Xiropigado so access can only be done by private means.
