Seskli beach in a deserted islet in Symi
Going on a daily cruise, south of Symi you will come across the deserted Seskli island which hides a magical landscape and a dreamy beach with only a few wild goats as residents, a true paradise for boaters and vacationers.
Most of the beach is with pebbles but there is also a smaller sandy part. The waters are crystal clear and there are tamarisk trees for shade. Those who want to dive can go to the pier.
The access is by the boat "Poseidon" which makes a daily tour of the island and offers delicious barbecue with excellent accompaniments.
Below is a list of stay options I recommend you to stay at:
- (€) Maravelia's Rooms (⭐ 8.4) in a very good location within the village of Symi. It offers comfortable rooms and a roof garden with a view
- (€) The Old Symi (⭐ 8.9) cozy rooms with traditional touches and most with private balconies guaranteeing a comfortable stay. Located just a short distance from Gialos
- (€€) Pedi Beach Hotel (⭐ 9.3) in Pedi a beach hotel in a modern building for those seeking rest and tranquility
The ancient name is Teftlousa from the many beets that were cultivated, today the island is a metohi of the Panormitis monastery. There is a chapel dedicated to the Apostle Paul as according to tradition the Apostle during a tour from Asia Minor to Rhodes was forced to disembark due to rough seas in Seskli. It is a declared archaeological site as there are numerous archaeological ruins.
If you are in Rhodes I recommend the full-day boat trip to Symi and Panormitis.
If you are in Symi then I recommend the bus trip to Panormitis Monastery.
